DESCRIPTION:Join us for our monthly meeting at Pilot Pete’s in Schaumburg. We meet in the banquet room in the back. We’ll be talking about the upcoming MCSCC Championship Weekend as well as nominations for awards and 2027 board members. Bring your nomination suggestions so we can discuss during the meeting. Additional information about the award nominations\, as well as our members’ current standings in the championship\, is below. \nSee you there! \nBelow is a description of the awards we will be making nominations for. Look back over the year and think of your fellow competitors who may deserve a nomination! \n\n            NSSCC Special Awards\n        \nWheel-to-Wheel driver of the year\nNominees shall have competed in at least 5 wheel-to-wheel events during the year and should have a positive attitude and display driving skills that other members aspire to. The number of events attended should be taken into consideration. \nAX driver of the year\nNominees shall have competed in at least three HSAX events during the year and should have a positive attitude and display driving skills that other members aspire to. The number of events attended should be taken into consideration. \nVintage Driver of the year\nNominees shall have competed in multiple events in the Vintage class during the year and should have a positive attitude and display driving skills that other members aspire to. The number of events attended should be taken into consideration. \nRookie Wheel-to-Wheel Driver of the Year\nNominees shall have passed their first wheel-to-wheel drivers school during either the last drivers school of the previous year or one of the first two driver schools of the current year. Nominees should have a positive attitude and their driving skills should have improved greatly during the year. The number of events attended should be taken into consideration. \nHigh-Speed Autocross Rookie Driver of the Year\nNominees shall have completed their first year of High Speed Autocross\, running at least three events. They should have a positive attitude and their driving skills should have improved greatly during the year. The number of events attended should be taken into consideration. \nLynn Serra Worker of the Year\nNominees shall have volunteered at multiple Midwestern Council events throughout the year and displayed a positive attitude and enthusiasm for contributing their time and effort to making Midwestern Council events a success. \nRoss Fossbender (NSSCC enthusiasm) Award\nNominees shall be active NSSCC members and have a positive attitude that encourages others to participate in the club as well. \n\n            Midwestern Council Special Awards\n        \nHigh Speed Autocross Rookie of The Year\nNominees shall have completed their first wheel-to-wheel drivers school during the current year. Nominees should have a positive attitude and their driving skills should have improved greatly during the year. The number of events attended should be taken into consideration. \nWheel-to-Wheel Rookie of the Year\nNominees shall have passed their first wheel-to-wheel drivers school during either the last drivers school of the previous year or one of the first two driver schools of the current year. Nominees should display the “MC” attitude\, fun with competition\, and and their driving skills should have improved greatly during the year. The number of events attended should be taken into consideration. \nArt Jahn Wheel-to-Wheel Driver of the Year\nNamed for Art Jahn from MSCC as the most prolific champion in Midwestern Council history. Nominees should display a true sportsman attitude and be respected by their fellow competitors. In most cases\, the nominee should have placed well in their class that they competed in for this year. Competitors should NOT be nominated for sportsmanship alone and those competitors displaying outstanding sportsman qualities should be nominated for Sportsman of the Year \nHigh Speed Autocross Driver of the Year\nSame as Wheel to Wheel Driver\, but specific to High-Speed Autocross \nVintage Driver of the Year\nSame as Wheel to Wheel Driver\, but specific to the Vintage class \nEnduro Driver of the Year\nSame as Wheel to Wheel Driver\, but specific to Enduro races \nLou Schauppner Award: Worker of the Year\nNamed for Lou Schauppner from Chicagoland Sports Car Club and given to a dedicated worker that is at the track more often than not. Enjoys their specialty and performs their duties to the best of their ability. \nBill Poole/Ray Jackson Memorial Award\nNamed for Bill Poole and Ray Jackson from Madison Sports Car Club and awarded for Long-Term Outstanding Service to Midwestern Council. Past recipients have been members of MC for 15 years or more\, often MC officers\, chiefs of specialties\, or race staff who were at the track of working behind the scenes\, dedicating a major portion of their free time to MC. This award is also open to anyone who hasn’t received it in the past 15 years\, even if they have previously been awarded. \nSportsman of the Year\nAwarded to a competitor that displays excellence in character\, spirit and competition. This person will go out of their way to help others and will ask for nothing in return. \nMember of the Year\nAwarded to a member who has performed outstanding services for MCSCC during the current year.
